 . The Slamily

In January, I started a new project, photographing participants of poetry slams. Now, after shootings with 26 different slam poets I’m ready to show a small selection of pictures. Everything is shot in studios in Linz and Vienna with the 50 megapixel Hasselblad H3D medium format camera, so big prints will look absolutely amazing. Can’t wait to exhibit the series! :-)

The picture above shows Christian ‘Schreibi’ Schreibmüller.

See more portraits in the “The Slamily” section of my portfolio.

01/12/2011 . Golden Blossoms

Since spring 2011 I have been working on a new portrait series showing women and young children wearing the traditional Upper Austrian golden headdress (“Linzer Goldhaube”). While I will carry on photographing more women, a selection of images from the final series is now online in the Golden Blossoms portfolio.

22/11/2011 . Making-of “Was ihr wollt” with Wolfgang Böck

A few weeks ago I shot the a portrait of actor Wolfgang Böck that serves as key visual for the 2012 production of the summer theater in Kobersdorf, Burgenland. William Shakespeare’s drama “Was ihr wollt” (“Twelfth Night”) is to be shown, so the man/woman duality was the main idea behind the concept.

Here is a short making-of video (thanks to CREATEAM):

28/10/2011 . More pictorial landscapes

After returning from my trip to the USA and shooting my pictorial landscapes I started refining my technique. As all the effects are done on site and without the help of Photoshop, I was trying to find a pictorial technique that still takes coincidence into account, yet giving more consistent results with less effort … and I made some progress.

Some new images from beautiful Austrian autumn are in the pictorial landscapes section of the portfolio.

 . Allotment garden

As I am interested in the connection between people and their gardens, I visited my brother Roland in his allotment garden and took some portraits of him. I am planning to take more portraits of people in their gardens next year. This construction site is closed until spring :-)

The portraits of Roland can be seen in the Portrait section of the porfolio.

07/08/2011 . Wild nature

I often wonder how landscapes would look like if there were no humans. Sometimes I stand on top of a hill looking down at all the concrete, the regulated rivers, the power lines and streets and wonder how the view might have been some thousands years ago.

Ok, how does the image fit into this context? I found a non-regulated creek with uncultivated land left and right of it, that has just the quality I am meaning … well, we do ignore the cut off branch here :-)
